Cosmetics and perfumery

The cosmetics sphere of Belarus is one of the youngest segments of the industry of the republic, however, in a relatively short period of time the production of Belarusian enterprises managed to receive a share not only on the domestic market — 30-35%, but abroad as well.

Many admit: the brand “Belarusian cosmetics” exists, and it is quite recognizable both in Belarus and in the CIS and Baltic countries. Over 100 enterprises are registered in this sphere, of which about 20 are active in Minsk alone.

The main direction of production export is Russia. However, Belarusian supplies of makeup were carried out to markets of such countries as Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, USA, Canada, Germany, Israel, the Czech Republic, Armenia, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Cyprus, Iran, Tajikistan, New Zealand, Macedonia, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Afghanistan, Egypt and others.

Belarusian manufacturers of cosmetics, perfumery and household chemicals retain their positions by means of expansion and modernization of production facilities, increasing investments in marketing, development of new types of products which meet modern trends of the dynamic market.

Investments and major projects

One of the examples of successful investments in the sphere of cosmetics and perfumery is the FPC “Perfumery and cosmetics factory “Sonca” (Asipovičy, Mahileū region) created in 2010. The founders of the enterprise are a group of Belarusian and foreign investors. The capacity of the plant is 50 thousand tons of dry and 40 thousand tons of liquid detergents per year. According to the data of the company Nielsen, powder “Mara” of the new factory became the leader in terms of sales volume in Belarus among the powders of all producers, including famous foreign producers.

The enterprise plans to manufacture hygiene products, liquid soaps, shower gels and other products.
